These baby red potatoes are a favorite for my family, served withSlow Cooker Brown Sugar Balsamic PorkRoast, andTomato Cucumber Salad.
Sometimes, things need to be kept straightforward, right? Well, that’s what I think when it comes to certain foods. Too often, folks add so many “extras” to a recipe that you can’t recognize the main ingredient.
If I cooked those beautiful, simple potatoes perfectly, they wouldn’t need anything added to them. That was it, and I had a plan.
Three Reasons I Love My Air Fryer
One, it’s easy to use; two, it cooks food perfectly; and three, clean-up is a breeze! Air Fryer Steak Bites and Air Fryer Sausage And Potatoes are cooked perfectly, and air-fried potato recipes – Air Fryer Baked Potatoes, Air Fryer Roasted Sweet Potatoes – are family favorites.
Ingredients For Air Fryer Baby Potatoes
- Baby Potatoes – red potatoes, Yukon gold potatoes, or a mixture of both work great in this recipe.
- Olive Oil and Butter
- Fresh Parsley – fresh rosemary or thyme can also be used or any fresh herbs that you like.
- Sea Salt and Fresh Cracked Black Pepper—you can also add garlic powder, onion powder, Parmesan cheese, or Cajun seasoning for Air-Fried Cajun Potatoes.
How To Make Air Fryer Baby Potatoes
- Drizzle the potatoes with olive oil and sprinkle onsalt.Tossand place in the basket of the air fryer.
- Set the temperature to 400 degrees andthe timer to 20 minutes. Halfway through cooking, remove the basket, shake it, and then place it back in the air fryer to continue cooking.
- While the potatoes are cooking, melt butter. When the potatoes are done, transfer them to a bowl, drizzle with butter, sprinkle with salt, pepper, and parsley, andtoss, coating the potatoes.
Tips For The Best Crispy Roasted Potatoes
- Use the right type of potatoes: Baby red potatoes in the air fryer are tender, loaded with flavor and work well for this recipe.
- If needed, cut the potatoes into uniform sizes: Cut them into evenly-sized pieces so they cook evenly in the air fryer.
- Toss with oil: Toss the potatoes with a little oil, such as olive oil, before adding them to the air fryer.
- Cook in batches: To ensure even cooking, cook the potatoes in batches rather than overcrowding the air fryer basket.
Commonly Asked Questions
Do I need to oil the potatoes before air frying them?
Yes, coating the potatoes with a small amount of oil will help them crisp up and prevent them from sticking to the air fryer basket.
Can I make these potatoes ahead of time?
Yes, you can make the potatoes ahead of time and reheat them in the air fryer or the oven before serving.
How do I store leftovers?
Store any air fryer mini potatoes in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer until warmed through.
What To Serve With Air Fryer Baby Potatoes
These potatoes can be served at any meal as a side dish. I love serving them with Crock Pot Chicken Thighs, Crock Pot Hawaiian Meatballs or Honey Garlic Lime Shrimp for a quick weeknight meal. And there’s nothing like a meat and potatoes meal with Easy Glazed Meatloaf.

These are impressively good, especially for how simple they are. I’ve made them twice now and have stuck to the recipe, but I do find I need to add some table salt at the end because not enough of the sea salt will stick. This is easily one of my favorite side dishes already – partially because of the taste, partially because of how easy they are. I’m slow at prep work so I usually spend that time on the main dish and skimp on the side dish. I don’t feel like I’m skimping with this one!Reply

Super easy starch option while I prepped a more complicated entree. Can season these potatoes according to your own preference or with whatever you happen to have available. I used TJ’s 21 Seasoning Salute as I didn’t have any fresh parsley on hand and we enjoyed!
