Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Based on the hit tv series on Disney channel It stars Hilary Duff as Lizzie McGuire herself She's graduating high school On her summer break though she and her classmates including Kate and Ethan are off to Rome, Italy Paolo Valisari, a European music sensation then meets her mistaking her for another musician named Isabella Parigi Both her and Paolo had a falling out He then gets a crazy idea to pass her off as Isabella of course Lizzie isn't so sure about it She has to build to the courage to get past her stage fright singing with the help of her friend Gordo How long can she keep it up and moreover she's falling in love with Paulo unaware of Gordo's true feelings about her This is still a story of a young girl dreaming of becoming a pop star and it fits the target audience it's aimed at Even if it's not memorable and doesn't necessarily scream cinema the fans will get their fill The final scene with the concert is the best thing with the best song Although I wish the ending was better and this didn't feel like an extended tv episode Rated 3/5 Stars • Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/03/23 Full Review Riley C This live action and animated movie is released in 2002 was disney channel series never seen before and until sequel in TBA and series reboot on air and streaming on disney plus. The acting isn't good at all for being a big screen feature, the cinematography is cheap, uninspired, shot like a sitcom, and doesn't really ever take advantage of its amazing set location. The music is Bad with cheap pop numbers and songs that feel over the top and don't really go together. The worst parts are the editing and pacing they are absolutely terrible for the whole middle of this film. A third of this movie is nothing but edited montages and Lizzie and her love interest just doing stuff with no real plot taking place until the last ten minutes. This should have been a 40-45 minute Disney Channel TV Special not a Theater release. There is basically no plot for over half this film. Skip This At All Cost.
