What are the age groups for 4h in Wyoming? ›

4-H Club Enrollment 1. Youth that are 8 -18 years of age prior to January 1st of the current year may enroll in the Wyoming 4-H club program. 2. Youth may enroll in the Wyoming 4-H club program at any time of the year.

Ivan L. Hobson is credited with starting the first 4-H clubs in Wyoming in 1913. Four kinds of clubs were promoted- crop production, potato, poultry, and garden and canning. Sheridan County hired the first full-time Boys' and Girls' Club agent in 1917.

Youth Members

Youth who are 8 years old on or before October 1 may join 4‐H as a 4‐H member and enroll in project(s) listed in the 4‐H Clover except for Shooting Sports and some horse projects. To enroll in Shooting Sports, youth must be 10 on or before October 1.

4-H is for all youth in grades 4-12. Children in grades K-3 may join Clover Kids, and youth in grades 4-12 may join local learning communities or clubs. You do not need to live on a farm or be interested in animals to join.

Youth can get involved in Florida 4-H many different ways:

The minimum age of a 4-H youth is 5 years old and the maximum age for a 4-H'er is 18 years old, or completion of high school, whichever comes first.

Youth in 5K (five-year-old Kindergarten) AND who are 5 years old by September 1 or older are eligible to be 4-H members. 4-H membership cannot exceed one year beyond high school graduation and cannot extend beyond the age of 19 as of December 31 of the enrollment year.
