Mamás virtuosas
Se levantan sus hijos y la llaman bienaventurada; y su marido también la alaba. Muchas mujeres hicieron el bien, mas tú sobrepasas a todas. Proverbios 31:28,29.
El día de las madres es especial porque existe un sentimiento único que se experimenta con el ser que nos dio a luz. La mamá puede ser gritona, enojona, regañona, olvidadiza, repetitiva y tener un sinfín de errores, pero tiene algo que la hace ser especial. La unión que itene con una madre no se puede reemplazar con nada. El escritor de Proverbios afirma que “se levantan los hijos y la llaman bienaventurada”. Es bienaventurada, dichosa y bendecida por el sólo hecho de dar a luz. Pero también porque es capaz de reflejar la entrega del Señor Jesucristo de forma incondicional al darlo todo sin esperar nada a cambio, al quitarse el pan de la boca para darlo al hijo, al sufrir y gozar con la misma o mayor intensidad que lo hacen sus hijos.
La labor de una mamá se merece todo el respeto del mundo. Una mujer no pierde su tiempo cuando se queda en casa criando a sus hijos; está preparando una nueva generación que impactará el mundo. El marido “también la alaba” indica en Proverbios que se le reconoce su labor. Aunque por desgracia hoy en día no todo mundo valora el papel de una madre, en ocasiones ni ella misma porque el pensamiento de la sociedad actual quiere dar valor únicamente a los logros que se tienen fuera del hogar, el ser madre es una bendición de Dios. El marido y todos los de la casa tienen la responsabilidad de honrar a la mamá por su papel fundamental en el hogar. Si una mamá está bien, el hogar está bien; si está mal, todo tiembla.
La frase “mi mamá es la mejor del mundo” es cierta para cada individuo que la pronuncia porque para él o ella no existe otra igual. La mamá es única y nadie se puede comparar con ella. El versículo 29 de Proverbios 31 pudo haber sido una frase muy común entre aquellos que valoraban a la mujer virtuosa: “Muchas mujeres hicieron el bien, pero tú sobrepasas a todas.” No se niegan las bondades de las otras mujeres, pero la que está en casa es la joya más preciada. La mamá es la mujer más excepcional que le puede haber tocado a un hijo. Demos gracias a Dios por las mujeres excepcionales que nos ha dado como mamás y esposas. Algunos pueden disfrutar de la presencia de su mamá en la tierra y otros ya han sufrido su partida, pero a todas se les puede dar honra siendo hijos ejemplares. Dios bendiga a las mamás.
Virtuous Moms
Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:“Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all” (Proverbs 31:28-29 NIV).
Mother’s Day is special because there is a unique feeling which we experience only with the one who gave birth to us. Moms can be loud, tempered, rebuking, forgetful, repetitive and make endless errors but they have something that makes them special. The bond that a child experiences with his/her mom is irreplaceable. The writer of Proverbs affirms “her children arise and call her blessed.” She is blessed, joyful and unique by the sole fact of being a mom. But she is also blessed because she can experience the giving of herself for the benefit of others without expecting anything in return, just as our Lord Jesus did. She prefers not to eat if that implies that her child couldn’t eat; she also enjoys or suffers her children’s success or failures with the same or more intensity than they do.
Moms’ work deserves all the respect of the world. A mom is not wasting her time or life when she stays home raising kids; she is preparing a new generation that will impact the world. “The husband praises her also” indicates that she is valued, that her work is acknowledged. Even though not everybody values the role of a mom, at times not even herself, because today’s thinking only values the achievements outside of home. Being a mom is a blessing from God. Husbands and children are responsible for honoring moms for the fundamental role they play at home. If a mom is well, everything is okay at home, but if she is not, the whole house trembles.
The phrase, “my mom is the best mom in the world” is true for everyone who pronounces it because for him/her there is none equal to her. Moms are unique and nobody can compare to them. Verse 29 of Proverbs 31 could have been a common phrase among those who appreciated the virtuous woman: “Many women did good, but you surpass all of them.” No one argues against the good that other women did, but the one who is at home is the most beautiful jewel. Mom is the most exceptional women that a child could have. Let us praise God for the exceptional woman He has given us as moms and wives. Some people have the privilege of enjoying their moms here on earth, and some others have suffered their departure, but we all can honor our moms by living in a way that pleases God.
